Love the Climb
September 5, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I started cycling at the local GoodLife Fitness gym last year. If you’ve ever done stationary cycling you know how grueling it can be. It’s a deep pain and extremely exhausting. That little bike can dish out quite a punch. It’s a fantastic workout if you can get through the whole class.
It’s been over a year now. I’ve been cycling once per week to get into better shape for hockey and it’s worked
When I first started cycling I used to hate climbing. Climbing is when you crank up your gear shift (resistance) on the bike. You crank it so you literally have to jump out of your seat to hammer down those pedals. If you don’t, you’ll come to a complete stop.
It takes every ounce of energy and effort to keep moving forward. It tests your limits, it tests your will and it tests your mind. Walking down a set of steps after this work out is not an option.
I almost fell off the bike once when climbing. It was my fourth week cycling and we were running a climbing circuit. The circuit went like this: Stand up and climb for 5 seconds, down and sit for 10 seconds, up for 5 and down for 10, and so on and so forth. As I was going up and down on one of those cycles I almost spun out of control. I lost my footing and I almost lost the bike too!
Yesterday I was climbing again. When the music started and we were about to start, I got excited!
- All I could see was this massive mountain in front of me.
As I was pedaling all I could think about was every challenge that has ever come my way. I was thinking about every obstacle that has ever been in my path. I was thinking about every time I’ve ever gotten knocked down and how I got back up.

Freedom Day – Nov 1, 2008
September 1, 2008 | 2 Comments
I’ve been working in my full time job now for just over 5 years. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade. Over the past year I knew I wanted to quit and explore other streams of income, but I was scared.
In June I finally got the courage to hand in my resignation. Now I didn’t know how this was all going to turn out, so I figured that I would just hand in my letter of resignation and that would be that. In the meantime I would have to figure out a way to put food on the table.
While I was speaking with the president of the company I work for, he was very supportive of my new business ideas. He thought it was great. He also said that he would help me out and provide me with a part time contract position while I got my business up and running. I was floored when I heard this.
Full Time to Part Time
I’ve made arrangements to work 2 days a week as a consultant. My new hourly rate is going to be 3 times the rate I’m currently paid as a salary employee. Granted, this new hourly rate will not include benefits, a pension plan, vacation days, or any of the other fun things that come with a job, and I’m ok with that.
My first day of Freedom will be November 1, 2008. Now I can put food on the table and still build my blog and coaching business, Freedom Education.
All in all, I’m very grateful for the President’s generosity and support. I’m very appreciative of how this all came to be. I’m also very touched that others were willing to help me realize my dream. I guess I just had to let it happen.

10 False Beliefs about Money
August 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
The most common reason that people are broke is because of their false beliefs. These beliefs come from the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind or the emotional mind works with the Law of Attraction. You attract based on the programming of your subconscious mind.
Many people know how to make money; a lot of them do. They just don’t know how to keep it! They don’t know how to keep it because of their false beliefs.
Your programming may be putting the brakes on your efforts. These false beliefs are buried deep in the constructs of your mind. If you keep attracting debt, then you may have false beliefs about money.
Here are ten false beliefs about money,
- I’m not smart enough.
- I’m not good enough.
- You can’t trust people with money.
- You can’t be rich and healthy.
- Money doesn’t grow on trees.
- You need money to make money.
- Making money is a lot of hard work.
- Having money just creates problems.
- Having money isn’t everything.
- Money is dirty (coming from, “He’s filthy rich!”)
You can’t change these beliefs because YOU ARE them. You are your beliefs. You won’t be able to change them until you separate yourself from your beliefs. You do this by becoming aware of these beliefs and letting them go.

A Secret to Master Visualization
August 26, 2008 | 4 Comments
“As the sailor has the port toward which he is sailing in his mind, you must have a clear mental picture continually in your mind. You must keep your face toward it all the time.” ~ Wallace Wattles
Your mental image will manifest when impressed continuously on the formless substance. There is no doubt in my mind that this is true. It’s Law. The difficulty is in keeping that impression consistent and continuously on your mind.
The Problem with Visualization
Not let me be very clear on this. I don’t think visualization is the problem. Visualization is in fact perfect in every way. It’s perfect because the Universe is perfect. The Universe is in direct alignment with your hearts desires. It’s completely aligned for you in every aspect. In this current moment your life is in complete alignment with what you want.
The problem isn’t visualization. The problem is focus.
Tell me, What do you really want?
Really give that question some thought. I don’t think many people do. When I ask others this question, there are usually two answers,
1) They don’t know
or
2) They tell me what they think they can get

A Sign of a Great Leader
August 21, 2008 | 5 Comments
“In so far as your business consists in dealing with other people – whether directly, by telephone, or by letter – the key thought of all your efforts must be to convey to their minds the impression of increase.” ~ Wallace Wattles
The impression of increase is a huge idea. Use this idea to become a great leader. I believe that great leaders use this idea, regardless if they are consciously aware of it or not.
Increase
Wattles is saying that all men and woman seeking an increase must impress that increase on others. When I say increase I’m talking about the things in life that we all want more of.
We want bigger homes, more expensive cars, to dine and eat fine cuisines and wear comfortable clothing. We want books to read, the world to travel and explore. We want to develop our mental faculties. And we want more money so that we can do all of these things.
We want greater freedom. We want to fully express ourselves and be creative through our work. We want to feel that we have purpose in life and in the work that we do. We want to be using our special gifts and natural ability. We want all these things and more because of our natural desire to increase and become more.
Increase Riches
Money is a part of your increase to become more. In this day and age you cannot increase without having money. It’s just not possible.
Now the Universe loves speed. Your advancement as a human being is directly proportional to your desire for increase. The stronger your desire, the faster you will advance. Napoleon Hill once said, Click here to read more…

August 20, 2008 | 5 Comments

Natural Ability
August 7, 2008 | 5 Comments
“The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it put your whole soul into it – every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have.”
John D. Rockefeller
1839-1937, Industrialist and Philanthropist
Most people work hard at success. They think they need to work hard to be successful. I still catch myself thinking the very same thing. We should spend more time doing what we love to do as opposed to the things we have to do. Do the things that come the most natural to us. Trust in our natural ability.
The thing is that most of aren’t doing this, but why?
Work Hard to be Successful
The problem is that we’ve been trained to think that success is hard work. And I think that hard work just makes you cranky and tired.
In my opinion true success is a measure of your progression towards an ideal outcome. And that outcome is achieved by taking consistent actions that are easy, effortless and fun; actions that come naturally to you; actions that utilize your talents and natural ability.
When I say you don’t have to do “hard work”, what I mean is that life doesn’t have to be a struggle before you become successful. Life is not a sequence of punishing events before you make it to the big show. You don’t have to punish yourself or put in long hard working hours before you’re successful. The truth is that success can be easy. You just have to let it happen.
I’m not suggesting that commitment isn’t required here. Working hard and being committed are two different things. What I’m saying is that you can achieve a worthy ideal and become successful by making it easy for yourself. Do the things that make you feel good about yourself. Do the things that come naturally to you.

Dan Sullivan: Unique Ability
August 4, 2008 | 3 Comments
Dan Sullivan is the founder and creator of The Strategic Coach. He offers successful entrepreneurs a unique process for extraordinary growth, higher income, and exceptional quality of life. He’s the first person (that I’m aware of) to coin the term unique ability. If you’re struggling in your job, business or life direction then be sure to read through Dan’s concepts on unique ability.
Dan has been in the coaching business for more than 30 years. He’s worked with big names in the personal development arena including people like Jack Canfield and David Bach. He’s helped many successful entrepreneurs increase their income and their time off.
Dan believes that everyone spends their time in one of 4 areas:
- Incompetent
- Competent
- Excellence
- Unique Ability
These four areas are your life. You really want to go through each area and understand where you are. Treat this as an exercise and be open to learning something about yourself. Answer the questions at the end of each section.
1. Incompetent
Everyone has an area in their life where they are incompetent. It may not be glaringly obvious at first but it’s all a part of us. This is an area in your life where you are easily frustrated.
An area where I’m completely useless and easily frustrated is in planning. It’s tough to execute and do great things when you don’t have a plan, and I hate planning.
