How to Change Your Thoughts, Fast!

January 17, 2009 by Steve

Not many people know this, but I’ve been trained in NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming.  With this training I’ve learned how to change thoughts fast.  Changing your thoughts (especially the nagging ones) is not as difficult as it sounds.  You can do it very quickly when you have the right tools.  It’s just a matter of having a willingness to learn something new so that you can change your thoughts.

In this video I’ll show you exactly how to change your thoughts fast using the swish pattern.

Remember we all think in pictures. And those pictures for the the most part create your experience - that experience is perceived through your vibration or feelings.  Change the thought and you change the feeling.

Here’s the video:

Would you like to present more NLP techniques?
I have access to like every self-help tracker possible, but still it’s complicated for me to pick out stuff from theory that will actually help me. I’d be thaaankful :)

Thank you for the video! I thought of the 10,000 first :) So it must’ve worked!

I was wondering though. Numbers are relatively easy. Can this also work with other things? Like… What if I wanted to be with someone I like? What I tried was to first visualize each other sitting on two separate chairs, very far away from eachother, and then I made an image of us two hugging.

Would that work with this exercise too?

Hey Joshua - yes, this can work with people too :)

From my own personal experience I find it more powerful to visualize in the first person when being with another person intimately - how do I know? Based on feelings, that’s how.

For more on this, see: Should You Visualize in the 1st or 3rd person?

There are some other tricks to visualize being intimate with another person (and generating those feelings) - I’ll share those tricks in my next video.

Thanks for responding so quickly! If it’ll work for people, it’ll definitely work for… basically anything then! Cool :)

I’ll definitely keep a lookout for the next video :)

Very cool… I’ve played with Swish patterns from Robbins stuff in the past, but haven’t done it for a while.

While watching the video, I visualized having $250,000 in my bank account using the swish pattern and the very first answer that came to me when I asked myself how much is in my bank account was $250k so it did work. :)

Paul - that is so crazy!!!

NOT that it worked, but that you visualized $250k, which is the same number I visualize every morning, wowsers!!!

    Steve,
Hi there! This was a great video for people having trouble with visualizing the swish pattern. Until now, it always took me a while, because I always feel as though I have to get the exact detail right. And then of course I get distracted. The quick process that you describe is much more effective than what I’ve been doing. Thanks for the help!
