You Must Know Two Things to Succeed
June 15, 2009 by Steve
You’ve got to know where you are and where you’re going. Your target helps you stay focused and gives you direction so you know where you’re going. And that’s an important step as I’ve mentioned before in How to Stay Focused When You Feel Like Giving Up, but there is more to it than that. You also need to know where you are.
Think of it this way. Let’s say you’re going to fly to New York City - that’s your target. And let’s also say you’re going to leave from Los Angeles - that’s where you are. In this case it’s pretty straight forward. You know where you are and you know where you’re going.
Now consider a slightly different scenario. Let’s assume your target hasn’t changed. You’re still going to New York City. The only difference this time is that you don’t know where you are. In other words, you don’t know what city you are in right now at this moment in time.
How will you get to New York City?
It’s almost impossible and I’ll explain why in my video with my own personal story.
