How to Work with People Who Irritate You

February 28, 2011 by Steve

Working with people who irritate you on a regular basis can drain your energy and dampen your spirits. I came across a situation like this last week. In this video I share how I dealt with this person in a supportive way that was a win-win and what you can do with people who irritate you.

[..YouTube..] Very good, Stephen. I was publicly accused/challenged by someone (from my perception) who misunderstood my intentions, and had no way to defend myself without spoiling my own best interests. I tried to erase the anger through positive thinking but it would always come back. It gnawed at me for several months. As it turned out, she later realized she had misunderstood me and extended a hand of conciliation, which it took me over a week to accept. Now things are fine, but I spent months (cont.)

I really like it when people can see outside the box and realize we have so much more control than we thought.

[..YouTube..] It’s good to meet people who are aware of this reality such as this one. I wish more people in the world understood that nothing is personal and that everything is from within. The way we perceive things will dictate our actions. We must take responsibilities for ourselves :)
Have you read any of Eckhart Tolle’s books?
    Take care!

    Hi!

Also, to alternate between “I Wish You Well” and “I Wish Myself Well” can be helpful – since (as you also mentioned) the irritation most likely originates from within you and your life situation.

Thank You Steve, I appreciate your sharing your knowledge!
