Learn the Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Self esteem issues come from a poor self image.  It’s not something “outside” you that gives you the confidence to be brave and bold. It’s always what is inside of you.  In this video I share an experience I had with someone who had poor self esteem – and what you can do to raise your own self esteem to gain the courage to pursue your goals even through adversity.

The way to internalize self esteem of a strong person is to model someone strong.

A good way for that is reading fiction with such a person – reading fiction makes you identify with the main hero. You, so to say, use a “flight simulator” of being such a person.

    http://www.farnamstreetblog.com/2011/09/is-reading-fiction-good-for-you/

That effect is also working with movies, albeit weaker as you observe someone acting, not “see” world through eyes of hero(ine).

So what is your favorite hero from fiction books? I admit I love “Wild West” heroes of Karol May, or Alaskan ones of Jack London – especially Smoke Bellew – being a hero who transforms from a person I can identify with into a hardened adventurous veteran.

Can you give us some examples of such heroes, such transformations from your favorite fiction books?

    Hey Leszek,

I do have hero’s, but what I find inspiring about them may not inspire you… and in the end, it really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish; what you’re looking to achieve.

If you want to be a savvy business person, then model people who inspire you in that area; if you’re looking to be a better manager, then find people and model them in that area. If you’re looking to run a successful human potential/personal development business, then model people in that area.

You need to find your own models as those are the people who will connect with your vision and inspire you the most. Maybe I could put a post together on people who have inspired me… but this is definitely a good place to start: 50 Best Life Coaches in the World

I didn’t asked for real people only characters from fiction books – you know – like Huckleberry Finn, Winnetou, Dagny Taggart etc.

What fiction books give is the simulacra of real life and real emotions.

That’s what I asked for – your favourite fictional characters :)

That was acually the most interesting thing when I read that, because I acually just came from the supermarket and when I went in this peticular time, I knew beforehand what I wanted and it was just 2 things, but get this, the interesting thing was that from the time I got out of the car I realized that I was projecting confidence by the way I was walking cuse I had something to do and was going straight for it. Now, weather conciously thinking it, or subconciously, I realized it therefore upon the realization, my confedence was even boosted more. but either way i knew it and it was surpizing to read that after that just happening

But at the same time, when I went to ask for help from the one girl, n she was kinda cute, I didnt have that same confidence.

so anyway if your wondering how such the coincidence,
well when I got home I googled the word “Confidence” so thats how I got here. Cuse I said to myself I said “self” your gonna get so self confidence.

its called the mirror affect, place a mirror in front of anyone who is speaking and thats what they are saying to them self, its fascinating to watch this in social interactions, body language is a interesting thing to notice as well, you can literally read there mind because they are speaking it
