Cheri Huber: My 3 Favourite Quotes
July 30, 2011 | Leave a Comment
I received some audio training from Cheri Hubert. This woman is an extraordinary teacher and trainer. I’ve learned so much just listening and making notes and absorbing her teachings. I received her training as part of the bonuses to a package I purchased from T. Harv Eker back in 2006.
Here are 3 of my most favourite quotes from Cheri Hubert…
- “Being in this moment is the most intelligent you will ever be.”
- “Being present is accepting the now.”
- “If you’re living in the moment there is nothing to believe.”

3 Hidden Truths About Money
July 26, 2011 | 12 Comments
As you learn more about money, you may notice a few things. I have. In the past 6 months I’ve earned more money than in the previous 2.5 years combined. I have doubled my coaching rates and worked with some amazing people. In this post I want to share 3 truths I’ve learned about money.
Truth #1: Give More Than You Receive
Last summer this kid knocked on my door. He asked if I would like him to cut my lawn. He must have been about 11 years old and he seemed like a nice kid, so I said, “sure.”
“$25,” he said and I said, “deal.” And with that he proceeded to cut my lawn with his push-mower.
About 10 minutes later he came back and said, “I’m finished.”
“You’re finished,” I thought and I went outside to see the job he had done.
There were traces of little mohawks all over the lawn, places he had missed. I showed him the mohawks on the lawn… little areas where the grass was spiked up…. and asked him to cut them again so that it was all flush. I thought that was reasonable for $25 bucks (my lawn is tiny).
He went back a second time and did his thing. A few minutes later he came back, knocked on the door again and said,
“I’m finished”
We went again together to inspect the lawn. This time I noticed the lawn near the fence was not trim. I asked him if he had a trimmer to trim all the pieces of grass by the fence. He said,
“nope”
So I pulled my trimmer out from the garage and showed him how to use it. Minutes later he went again… this time trimming all the high grass along the fence.
10 more minutes and he was back… I heard the nock on the door again. I opened the door and he says…
“I’m finished”
This time I took a good look at the fence where he did the trimming. It looked pretty good. I went to give him the money and just before I did, I thought occurred to me, so I said,
“I’m curious, do you want to make more money cutting lawns? I mean, do you want to have so many clients paying you money to cut lawns that you never have to worry about knocking on another door again?”
He looked at me with eager eyes and said, “yes, yes.”
I said, “Next time you cut a lawn, make sure to always do more than you’re being paid to do. Don’t just do a little. Do more than you’re getting paid… and if you do that, you will always have plenty of people sending you money to cut their lawns.”
Truth #2: Provide Valuable Service
You must provide valuable service to the person or company that is paying you. The way to create more value for your company is by solving their biggest problems. Learn how to do that and you will never have to worry about money again.
Prosperity will always be at your fingertips.
What happens is that we get so caught up in our own issues that we get distracted from serving others. We think, “I just need to sort out this and this issue and then I can help others with their problems.”
The reality is that if you have money issues – and I know that some of you do – you cannot afford not to pay attention to other peoples issues. The key to your prosperity lies in unearthing creative solutions to your companies biggest problems and issues.
In Richard Branson’s book “Business Stripped Bare: Adventures of a Global Entrepreneur,” he was asked in an interview,
“what would you say to someone who just lost their job?”
Paraphrased he said, “the most important thing to a business is money. Most people try and think of ways for the company to make more money and that’s fine. But the other side of the coin is how to save the company money. I would tell the person who just lost their job to think of some innovative ways to save their company money and pitch it to the CEO. If they see the validity in your idea, then all you have to do is name your price.”
That is exactly what I am saying. You want to continually deliver valuable service. And you can do that by looking for the biggest problem your company has and coming up with some very creative solutions to that problem. The bigger the problems you solve for them, the more money you will get paid.
Truth #3: Don’t Go Out & Get Money – Attract It!

Chasing The Dream
June 28, 2011 | 9 Comments
What I want to do is share a common distinction that most people miss from time to time. (me too!)
It’s not obvious when it’s happening, but it can come to you in a flash of insight. If you have dreams and you’re pursuing those dreams, you’ll completely relate.
Are you ready for this?
Chasing more money, more success and more happiness is what pushes it away. Chasing = FTGWYW
English please?
Chasing = Failure to Get What You Want (Much Better!)
How do you feel about that?
Are you irritated by what I said?
Good. Because the more you chase after success, the further away it moves.
If you want success, you have to let it come to you. You’ve got to ALLOW IT IN.

3 Steps to Install a Positive Belief System to Attract More Money
February 16, 2011 | 14 Comments
I’ve talked about beliefs quite a bit on this site. I’ve written about how beliefs stop people, create blind spots and even cause pain and discomfort. I’ve also written about how beliefs can help you achieve your wildest dreams and goals if they are strong positive beliefs aligned with your goals. In this article I’ll share 3 steps to install a positive belief system to attract more money.
Step 1: Choose What You Want
If you want to earn more money then you need to know how much. You may want a 10% raise at your job or you may want to earn an extra $100,000 before the end of the year. You may even want to double your business income before year end. It doesn’t matter what it is (or how much it is), the first step is to choose what you want.
Once you know what you want, write it down. It may be something like this: ”I am earning $500,000 as fast as possible.”
Ambitious people tend to set bigger goals.
Once you have your goal written down, your job is to read this goal once EVERY MORNING WHEN YOU FIRST GET UP.
A small caveat. People who have lower self esteem tend to be less likely to risk failure (or success); they are also less likely to handle the obstacles that will likely surface from pursuing bigger goals that are outside of their comfort zone (like attracting larger sums of money).
If that’s you, here’s what I suggest. Work on your self esteem and self confidence first. You do that by creating a powerful self image. That will put everything in line for you. You can get started here: 3 Tips to Build Self Confidence
Step 2: Get Into the Experience of Having It Now
Once you know what you want, you want to get into the experience of having it NOW.
If you want more money then you want to feel the abundance you would experience – not the money itself. A lot of people make this mistake. They screw up this whole abundance thing by trying to feel what it’s like to have an extra $1,000,000 dollars in the bank. And it doesn’t work because you don’t generate the feelings of abundance.
Money is not what turns people on. It’s what you can do with money. So what you really want to do is get into the experience of feeling abundant. You want to feel that you have more than enough money. You want to feel that you have more than enough time. You want to feel that you have more than enough food. You want to feel that you have more than enough health. You want to feel abundant in all areas of your life.

The second mistake a lot of people make is that they think they need to feel abundant every minute of every day. That’s total crap too.
You don’t need to feel abundant every minute of every day… in the beginning you’re only going to feel abundant for a few minutes each day. But that’s how this starts. As you keep at it, abundance will become your dominant way of feeling. It’s the repetition when done consistently over time that will transform your life. Click here to read more…

7 Ways to Create the Abundance Mindset
November 15, 2008 | 8 Comments
These days it seems that most people are focused on what they don’t have. There is this mindset and emphasis on not having enough or “not enoughness”. I know it’s crazy. Why would you want to be stuck in a lake of lack? If you want to develop the abundance mindset, you’ve got to send the right signals – you’ve got to be giving. Giving signals to the Universe that you have more than enough. Give away what you don’t have and you’ll create the abundance mindset.
Here are 7 ways to create the abundance mindset:
1. Short on Cash? Give it away. Yes, you heard me right. I’m not saying you should sell the farm, far from it. But you may consider giving some money to a charity, giving money to a friend who needs cash, or even giving money to a panhandler in the street. If there is one principle that highly aware human beings understand, it’s this: You give away and share everything you have because you understand that you are a creative being, meaning you can create anything you want.
2. Are you short on time? Then, give away your time. Take time to give to others. You don’t have to dedicate 90% of your day to serving others – that’s not what I’m saying. Just find that balance between giving and receiving. Find an organization or a person that you really love and volunteer for them. Give away your time for free! Just take some of your time and place your attention on contributing to others.
3. Short on Food? Give it away. This is such a good one. I’m always craving food because I love eating. If you want more food, then give some away. This is so easy to do. You could buy your friend dinner, or just share a snack with someone you know. You could cook for your family or invite your friends over for dinner.
4. Don’t feel loved? You’ve got to give away some before you get some. Give away some hugs. Go out right now and give 5 people you know a big hug. I guarantee right after you do this, you’ll feel great. You’ll feel like a million bucks! Why? Because you feel loved. And you can only feel loved if you give that love to others. Go out right now and start hugging :)

Freedom Day – Nov 1, 2008
September 1, 2008 | 2 Comments
I’ve been working in my full time job now for just over 5 years. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade. Over the past year I knew I wanted to quit and explore other streams of income, but I was scared.
In June I finally got the courage to hand in my resignation. Now I didn’t know how this was all going to turn out, so I figured that I would just hand in my letter of resignation and that would be that. In the meantime I would have to figure out a way to put food on the table.
While I was speaking with the president of the company I work for, he was very supportive of my new business ideas. He thought it was great. He also said that he would help me out and provide me with a part time contract position while I got my business up and running. I was floored when I heard this.
Full Time to Part Time
I’ve made arrangements to work 2 days a week as a consultant. My new hourly rate is going to be 3 times the rate I’m currently paid as a salary employee. Granted, this new hourly rate will not include benefits, a pension plan, vacation days, or any of the other fun things that come with a job, and I’m ok with that.
My first day of Freedom will be November 1, 2008. Now I can put food on the table and still build my blog and coaching business, Freedom Education.
All in all, I’m very grateful for the President’s generosity and support. I’m very appreciative of how this all came to be. I’m also very touched that others were willing to help me realize my dream. I guess I just had to let it happen.
