Bob Proctor Explains Visualization
August 4, 2010 | 3 Comments
Here is a video of Bob Proctor explaining Visualization. You can go to the bottom of this post to find the link. I’ve been following Bob since early 2007 after watching him in the movie The Secret. It still amazes me that after following Bob’s teachings for just over 3 years, he still presents the Law of Attraction and Manifesting with a new perspective.
In this video Bob Proctor talks about the importance of visualization and how it works. He also touches on two key points to help you visualize and manifest the life you desire.
Do you know what they are?
I don’t want to give theme away because if I do, you won’t use them. It would be like giving you a $1,000,000 and then telling you to invest it. Most of you wouldn’t know what to do with that kind of money - and a year later all the money would be gone. But if you get what Bob’s saying in this video, you won’t need a Million Dollars. It will come to you as easily as water rolls down a mountain; Besides, I don’t have a million dollars just yet :-)

After watching this video, get involved in my friendly blog contest on Manifestation and Visualization. I want to see who is the first one to come back and answer this specific question:
“What are the two key points that Bob speaks about in this video to help you visualize and manifest the life you desire?”

It seems that there are two different trains of thought on this topic. You either believe in the Law of Attraction or you don’t. And if you don’t believe it, does it still work?
The reason this is an important question is because all of reality is created by your thoughts - and even more so, your dominant thought patterns and beliefs. It’s these beliefs that create your ongoing physical manifestations.
So the big question then becomes, if you don’t believe in the Law of Attraction, does it still work?
I posted this question to a group of professional life and business coaches in a Group Discussion on Linkedin. I thought you might be interested in what these coaches had to say. Here are the top 9 answers (in no particular order):
Answer #1: Rhonda Hess, Niche Coach for Coaches
It certainly seems to be so. A mind is a powerful thing. Whatever we think about expands. What’s going on inside our head is reflected in some way by tangible reality. Whether someone believes in the “law of attraction” or not, it makes sense that we’ll have a better quality of life if our minds are trained on ideas and things that support us.

Answer #2: Monique Gallagher, Highest Potential Coaching
In my experience working with many clients, Law of Attraction works but not always does it get what people “consciously” want. If there is an in-congruence between what their head wants and their unconscious, the unconscious always wins. So, as long as someone has a way to integrate the two, they can make the Law of Attraction work for them.
Great question!

Answer #3: Daniela Andreescu, Art of Change Coach
‘To believe or to not believe’ is for me an informational ‘black hole’ that prevents one from experimenting, understanding and moving on. Preferably moving on to a new level of understanding and being, from where one can enjoy a new degree of freedom.
Thinking about attractors as “a set to which a dynamical system evolves after a long enough time”, the Law of Attraction ‘works’ if the system evolves in a direction that coincides with what one ‘asks and believes’ and it ‘does not work’ when what you ‘ask and believe’ is not on your way.
Sometimes, there is a coincidence that makes you believe in the
Law of Attraction, or the co-incidence happens somewhere else and not on your path, and you don’t believe that the
Law of Attraction works. What is always at work, is a complexity of systems that interact according to known and maybe also unknown ‘laws’.
From another perspective and a ‘practical’ point of view, the secret behind The Secret is that the Law of Attraction ‘works’ only if you can take appropriate action in one direction. The key is to know the right direction for you and to discern your own utmost possibilities. When you are negative and in the complaining-blaming-explaining mode, there is a high probability that the Universe will send you down the spiral. When you are positive and raise your level of attention, you get into an awareness mode that helps your intentions and actions to come from your being, not from your wanting. Then there is a greater chance that the Universe ‘gives you what you want’.

I believe in it completely yet as a coach I have worked with clients who don’t believe in it. They can not escape the clear connection between the condition of their lives and their attitudes, emotions and language yet still choose to dismiss LOA. One reflects the other. So, does it still work? Yes.

Here’s the simplest answer there is … it all depends on what you believe, since beliefs create your reality.
If you don’t believe that, then you will see evidence that beliefs don’t create your reality, thereby validating that beliefs create your reality!
The key element that very few people who discuss the Law of Attraction address, is that since the construct of the physical universe we are in, is dual in nature, the Law of Attraction works for what is limiting as well as what is empowering.

Yes, I believe it does! Whether you believe a magnet works or not, it still attracts metal. And whether you believe the energy you emit attracts more of the same energy or not, it still happens.
I can think of many people who send out negative energy and are always complaining about how everything bad that can happen to them does. They don’t believe in the Law of Attraction yet they seem to be living proof.
As for positive people, I can’t say I’ve met a positive person who wasn’t at least open to the idea that the Law of Attraction may exist. Guess it’s easier to believe you create your won joy and abundance than that you create your own challenges and scarcity!

Answer #7: Carol Dodsley, Inspirational Life Designer
The Law of attraction cannot fail to work - whether you believe in it or not - it is all based around the 7 laws that are in effect and working through energy vibration and you, those around you and the universe all the time.
You cannot change the way the laws work & you cannot stop them working - you can though, choose to work with them (believe in them and use your inner power to create your life) or ignore them (not believe in them and carry on doing what you have always done and keep getting what you have always got).
Law of attraction works with you all the time - it doesn’t know whether what you focus on is good for you, bad for you, what you really want or not - it simply knows what you are vibrating and focusing on.

Answer #8: Jenni Wright, Emotional Intelligence Coach
The Law of Attraction is just that - a law. Or as someone famous once said “what we think about comes about”. Here’s an example. How many times have you thought about someone you haven’t seen in a while and then within a very short time, you bump into them, or the phone rings and guess who’s at the other end?
We attract more of what we think about and more of what we talk about. The more gratitude we express for the good things in our lives, the more of those good things come our way. In fact, gratitude for what we have is a fantastic way to get started with the law of attraction. Maybe you find it difficult to visualise, it can be a challenge at first. Then try this little exercise.
Each day, morning and night, think of at least three things that you are grateful for. They don’t need to be big things, they can be as simple as having a warm bed, a roof over your head and food to eat. As the days go by you will begin to look for things to be thankful for, to add to your list. That means you are being more thankful during the day as well as your set times morning and evening. If you keep a diary or journal, write them down. If you have an off day, you can always go back and look at your list.
You can see how this one little exercise begins to snowball. You will find more and more things to be thankful for. Gratitude begins to fill your life and leaves less room for other thoughts that are not so thankful. More good things come into your life as you concentrate on good things. This is the law of attraction at work.
These new thoughts of gratitude also begin to make us feel better. Research now shows that reading and thinking about good things has an effect on our brains and our physical well being.
Give the gratitude exercise a try and let me know what happens on your journey.

The Law of Attraction gets much coverage in the personal development and self help industry. I have been asked the question if you don’t believe in the law of attraction does it still work?
The question itself presupposes that a law of attraction exists and reminds me of the philosophical question:
If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound if there is no one there to hear it?
Many people stumble upon the Law of Attraction because of financial hardships, ill health or loneliness. It can be sold as a panacea for those who need something when they are at a crisis in their lives.
Do you need to believe in something such as a “law” of attraction to have great relationships, attract business, have a better relationship with money or have a great life?
Do I need to believe in gravity or understand the theory for the coffee cup to fall to the floor if I drop it? No I don’t!
“Sir Isaac Newton told us why an apple falls down from the sky and from that fact it’s very plain all other objects do the same: a brick, a bolt, a cup invariably fall down not up…”
We tend to accept gravity and don’t fight against it. When was the last time you heard someone say “dam gravity I could have floated to work today if gravity had not got in the way!”

You can’t just think good thoughts and expect that good things will fall into your lap. Just thinking positive thoughts doesn’t cut it as I clearly pointed out in Why Positive Thinking Doesn’t Work. What’s clear to me is that applying the Law of Attraction effectively comes from becoming clear on what you want and then making the mental shift to receive it by acting as if you already own it.
Here’s a 5 step process to help you manifest and use the Law of Attraction more effectively in your life:
Step 1: Decide What You Want
One of the best ways to decide what you want is by knowing what you don’t want. This in itself helps you create the contrast in your experience so you can put your attention on what you really do want.
It seems very simple but the honest truth is that too many people put their attention on what they don’t want as I explain in Why You Attract What You Don’t Want.
In my Workbook I point out that some people are afraid to make the wrong decision. They don’t want to look bad or think that they did something wrong and that’s why they can’t decide.
So instead of deciding they procrastinate. They put off the decision. The irony is that the more you put off your decision the longer it takes you to get clear on what you really DO want.
Just think about it. Let’s say you’ve never had a salami sandwich before, but today you decide to you’re going to have one. As you eat the salami sandwich you realize that you hate salami. It tastes absolutely awful.
You shrug this off and decide to try a ham sandwich instead (because you now know that you don’t like salami). The ham sandwich tastes great. You can’t believe how tasty it is and wish you would have known about this magical meat sooner.
The fact is that with every new experience you have you begin to experience contrast. Each time you taste a different type of sandwich you have a new experience - and each new experience gives you more contrast relative to your previous experience.
The more experiences you have the greater the contrast. The greater the contrast the faster you can pinpoint what you don’t want and get clearer on what you do want. Decision is the starting point.
Step 2: Write It Down
After you decide what you want it’s important to write it down. It’s like using a highlighter while taking notes. Written thoughts highlight an intention to your subconscious mind.
Writing out your goals and intentions also helps you gain clarity and focus as I point out in How to Believe in Your Dreams - 3 Steps.
When you write out your goals and intentions you want to give them a direction and a magnitude. This is the fastest way to Setting and Achieving Your Goals. The direction helps you stay focused and the magnitude helps you measure how you feel about what you want to accomplish.
Both are equally important when using the Law of Attraction.
Step 3: Identify Any Limiting Beliefs
Assuming you know what you want and it’s written down, your now ready to receive it. The process of receiving what you want comes through your action. The problem that surfaces is that at some point you will feel torn between acting and not acting.
In come your limiting beliefs. The only way to successfully own and achieve your dreams is to conquer your limiting beliefs. Sometimes just being aware of these limitations helps you overcome road blocks, but that’s not always the case.
There are literally thousands of these limiting beliefs and false mental scripts running in our subconscious minds. Some are more common than others, but here are what I think are the top three: 3 Limiting Beliefs That Restrict Your Ability to Manifest
Step 4: Let Go of Attachment
Attachment can come in many forms. Sometimes we need a new perspective or a way of looking at things to help us get moving again. More times than not, it’s because we’ve become attached to our outcome. As I explain in my video How to Detach From Your Desired Outcome sometimes the fastest way to get what you want is by letting it go.
When I was 16 I used to work at Wendy’s (the restaurant). At the end of the night I had to dump all the burger grease into a huge green bin by the parking lot. That was disgusting and because I was working in a greasy environment my face exploded with pimples. That didn’t help my self-esteem and it didn’t help me with girls either ;)
After working at Wendy’s for about a year I got fed up. It was greasy and the pay was mediocre. I was going to get up and quit, but felt really attached to the extra income. I didn’t want to lose this money.
Then something happened. It was during the week the Manager asked me to turn on the lights to the Wendy’s balloon as it got dark outside. You may have seen one of these balloons before. Here’s a picture,

So I did exactly what the Manager said to do. I turned on the lights for the Wendy’s balloon and went on with the rest of my evening routine.
The next morning I got into work and the Manager was furious. He said that I forgot to raise the balloon before I turned on the lights. And because I didn’t raise it before turning on the lights, several football size holes were burnt into the balloon. I burnt down the balloon. This didn’t happen once, but three times. Eventually, the Manager cut back on my shifts. This was a real drag because I wasn’t making as much money so I quit.
The lesson?
Let go of what you don’t want so you can get clear and refocus on what you do want. I held onto this job because I was attached to the money. When I finally let go of my attachment I could finally refocus on new opportunities. Two weeks after I left Wendy’s I got a new job working at a local grocery store.
Step 5: Take Inspired Action
The key to inspired action is give up what you think should do and to begin focusing on how you want to feel. So when you take action it’s really about how you feel and how you approach those better feelings with your action.
It’s not about what you think you should do.
The truth is that this shift happens slowly. At first you may only take inspired action once per week. Then as you start to get a handle on this new way of acting, it’s starts to come to you more naturally. You’ll instinctively begin acting from this new place.
Some of the greatest insights I’ve had and shared with you have come from giving up on what I thought was “right” for me and shifting my focus to what makes me feel good. Adopting this mental shift has had a huge impact on my behavior, creativity and performance.
For a more detailed look at inspired action, be sure to see my previous post: 3 Steps to Help You Take Inspired Action.
These are 5 steps to effectively using the Law of Attraction. It’s more than just thinking positive thoughts - you’ve got to decide what you want, write it down, identify limiting beliefs, let go of attachment and take inspired action.

Learn the Science of Getting Rich
April 6, 2010 | 3 Comments
I realize it’s tough out there. There are a lot of people ‘hurting’ financially. I also realize that not everyone can afford to hire a coach; so here’s the next best thing: Wallace Wattles’ 7 Principles in the Science of Getting Rich.
I wrote these lessons back in 2008 after I left my job to pursue a full time career as a coach. I was making good money at the time (almost $10,000 per month) and I was inspired by Wallace Wattles’ book, The Science of Getting Rich.
I must have read Wattles’ book almost 50 times. And by studying this book and a few others sources I started to piece together the whole mystery behind the Science of Getting Rich.
When I got all the puzzle pieces in place, I decided to recreate these principles in my own words. I wanted to share it with others so that they could understand what Wattles was trying to say in current-present day terms.
I took what I believe are the most important concepts in Wallace Wattles book and put them into an easy to understand format. You can download the 7 principles in the Science of Getting Rich here for FREE:

As part of these principles I also share a few other resources that I think you will find valuable. These resources will help you understand Wallace Wattles’ concepts in greater depth. Click here to read more…

Are Your Thoughts Negative or Positive?
March 22, 2010 | 4 Comments
It’s crazy if you think of it. The human mind can think faster than most of us can read. Most of the time we don’t even know what we’re thinking. Our mind works way too quickly for us to keep track.
Some people will tell you that they’re really positive, but they always feel like crap.
Is that positive thinking? I don’t think so.
What about you? Are your thoughts negative or positive? and how can you tell?

Money and the Law of Attraction
March 15, 2010 | 4 Comments
Money and the Law of Attraction. Using the Law of Attraction to create more cash in your life has got to be one of the most misunderstood concepts that came out of the movie The Secret. I know it confused the heck out of me. It took me quite a while to get a handle on it.
Why?
I think the reason it took me so long is because I don’t normally associate positive feelings with the idea of money. And if I’m not feeling, then I’m not attracting. After all, this is a feeling Universe.
The real secret (if there is one) to attract more of the green stuff into your life is to appreciate the value of the service you offer in exchange for money. That sends a totally different signal and vibration to the Universe.
Money As A Symbol
Think of money as a symbol. It represents and is an expression of someone’s appreciation for you.
Let’s say you’re in a job. When the boss pays you, what s/he is really saying is, “here is this gift which symbolizes how much I appreciate you…” in the form of cash, check or deposit. The more your boss appreciates you, the more money you make.
The reason your boss gives you money in the first place is because you’re “worth” something to them. This worth-i-ness is measured by how much they appreciate you. The more they appreciate you, the more money you make.
So what I’m really saying here is that earning money has nothing to do with money and everything to do with how much people (who pay you) appreciate what you do. The more they appreciate what you do, the more money you’ll make.
Self-Appreciation
Now here’s something that’s also true. When the boss gives you money, s/he won’t appreciate what you do unless YOU appreciate what you do. Appreciation comes from the self, which means that you’re the starting point to all of the abundance and prosperity that you want.
That’s why I believe it is absolutely necessary that you start by doing what you love. Because when you do - you start to focus on all the positive aspects of your work experience.
This mental shift generates a feeling of appreciation and acceptance for what you do. And as you begin to appreciate what you do, you begin to influence the people around you with this thought of appreciation.
The more you appreciate what you do (for money), the more others experience this appreciation and the faster money will come into your experience.
So that’s the first order of business: Appreciate what you do (for money). Realize that money is a symbol that represents how much someone appreciates your service - regardless if you’re in a job or in your own business. The more others appreciate your service, the more money you will make.

How to Gain Lost Confidence and Take a Fearless Step
February 16, 2010 | 8 Comments
“Right now, in this moment, you are capable of exponential improvement in your performance. You don’t have to settle for things as they are now. That can change. Dramatically. You haven’t been reaching your full potential. So far, you haven’t even come close.” ~ Price Pritchett
Now for most of us we’ve been taught that the best way to grow and become more is by trying harder. You’ve got to push on through your feelings and do it. Trying harder is how you accomplish more. I’m sure you’ve heard that before.
The problem with always pushing yourself is that it leads to physical symptoms like burnout, fatigue and exhaustion. The harder you try, the worse you feel and in some cases, the less you accomplish.
Not only does this approach create burnout, but it can also creates negative emotional states and feelings like frustration, worry and fear.
Fear is the strongest of all negative emotions. It’s a dream killer and it’s the reason that many people have trouble moving forward with what’s important to them.
As an example let’s say you’re looking at a new career. You would really like to start writing and being more creative because you want to use more of your natural talents and unique abilities.
On the outside it seems like a good idea, but on the inside you have these doubts and fears. You think to yourself,
“What if I’m not good enough?”
“What if I’m not smart enough.”
“What if I’m not qualified?”
“What if they don’t like me?”
“What if I’m too old?”
“What if I’m too young?”
What if, what if, what if? All these doubts running through your mind. So on the outside you really want to take steps to make this new career happen, but on the inside you feel like you’re going through hell trying to get there. You feel stuck.
On one side of the coin you have this desire to grow and express more of who you really are and on the other side your fear is keeping you stuck. Your mind is trying to balance your fears and desires - where one part of you really wants this new career and the other part is resisting.
So how do you get around it?
I’m glad you asked. What we want to do is understand what exactly is controlling your internal thermostat; this balance between your fears and desires. Because once you know how to engage your desires and eliminate your fear, anything is possible.

I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Sometimes it’s better to just lay low and take a break from it all so that you can see the stars through the clouds. It’s easy to get so caught up in the “doing” and working harder mentality to the point where you’re feeling overwhelmed.
In today’s video, I’ll share a trick that has helped me eliminate that nasty feeling of being overwhelmed.

This common mistake is much more subtle that the others I’ve shared with you. If you want to learn how to use the Law of Attraction correctly, then you’ve got to be crystal clear with what you want. Sounds straightforward right?
Then why is it that a great majority of people don’t get what they want? You’ll want to watch this video to find out.
