Because motivation is an outside game.
Motivation relies on the conditions, circumstances and the people in your life to be just right before you feel motivated to act. If you rely on having outer conditions just right before you feel motivated to act, you could be waiting a long time.
In this video I’ll share what’s more important than motivation and why you don’t need motivation to make a change in your life. It’s all about the process and starting with the right part of the process.

July 20, 2009I agree a lot with what you’re saying here; essentially making your own choices and decisions based on what YOU think instead of letting outside factors in your life dictate those choices. That being said, I guess I consider inspiration and motivation to be identical in a lot ways, I consider that inner drive within myself to be “motivation” although you refer to it as “inspiration”
All in all, I agree with your message though, and it’s something I’ve been consciously working on in my personal life too. I don’t let social standards or the needs of other people dicate choices that will affect MY life.

July 21, 2009I definitely know about the people thinking you are crazy part. It’s really strange but they will only call you crazy until what you do is working, then you will be a genius. I’ve realized not having a job, and living at my parents house has given me the opportunity to be entrepreneurial. Great video

Yeah, if only those crazy people new that they were in fact crazy for acting like the flock of sheep they are following – by mimicking the habits and thought patterns of the general population – but we’ll save that for another video ;)
Good for you for sticking it out at your parents. As a blogger all you really need are two things: the right process and the right mindset. It sounds to me like you’ve got both.
