Totally Killed Twitter & Facebook

I just deleted my Twitter and Facebook Accounts.

Totally killed them.

I deleted both accounts because I hate clutter and waste.  Both of them were a waste of my time.

The only time I ever sent a Tweet was when I would publish a new blog post. It was pathetic really.  Such a time waster.

I mean if someone wants to read a blog post, then they should subscribe to my blog, not to my Twitter Feed.

Facebook was a waste of my time too.  When I did use Facebook, it was once a week at the most and it was mindless activity most times… sort of like when I used to watch TV – a total brain killer.

I’m done with both of them.

Maybe I signed up for these accounts because everyone else was doing it.

Social influence ya know?

It’s hard to say… I was a follower at the time and naive.  I bought in to all the hype – just going with the crowd.

Not anymore. Now I lead.

Steve

Good on you for leading the charge. I’ve never had a Twitter account. I just deleted my Facebook account too, for many reasons. Maybe others will follow suit.

Nice. I no longer have a facebook page either. It’s amazing to do a bit of an experiment and just disconnect from social constraints like that.

They actually eat up our time to incredible degrees. I mean, if you wanted too, you could just sit there 24/7 forever on facebook, youtube and playing games. It’s enough distraction to last a lifetime and never get anything done lol.

This will probably free up lots of mental and time resources in your life. Good work mate

Never had a Twitter a/c and been thinking for awhile now – why do I waste time on Facebook? Now I’ll just take the cue from you and say goodbye to Facebook. Carry on leading, Steve!

    Hi Steve,

Happy New Year, and another successful one for you!

As I said to you, you speak things I can relate to. Thanks.

As for twitter and Facebook, I’ve never had the former, and the latter I haven’t used in over two years. Mainly I found it depressing as friends were all doing something, going somewhere, and working on new projects which I wasn’t or couldn’t. I am currently thinking of getting back on FB as I’m missing out on events and new connections.

Don’t you think FB, if used sensibily, is actually a marketing tool? As more and more businesses I find are using them and it’s looked on by companies on how much marketing traffic you attract?

Just wondering, as I agree with you, but I think it might be one thing that’s going to stay, and we just have to know how to use it properly and not get hooked on it?
