Are you bigger than your problems?

October 26, 2008 by Steve

Most people don’t get what they want because they keep doing the same old thing. They keep taking the same actions in hopes of creating a different result. And the reason they do that is because their actions are rooted in fear. They fear taking on new actions. And that is their biggest problem.

Think of it this way. Let’s say on a scale of 1-10, you’re currently a 3. That’s where you are in your personal development. Now let’s say that there is this problem that you have. We all have them, it’s a part of life. And let’s say that problem is a 7. When you look up at the problem from where you are, the problem looks huge! A 7 is a lot bigger than a 3.

Now let’s say you work on yourself, you develop yourself. Maybe you get a coach and improve your confidence. You’re now at a 9 out of 10. A 9 is greater than 7, so now you look down at the problem and think, “that’s a tiny little problem, I can handle that.” And you do handle it because you’re bigger than the problem. Makes sense, right?

If you’re bigger than your problems, then you won’t have an issue to get where you want to be. You can do whatever you want, really. Personal growth is the key to heightening your awareness so that you can get what you want.

Here’s my take on this - see the video below.

This is my first video post. You gotta start somewhere, right? What do you think?

Steve - congratulations on launching your coaching business. Your first video post was very good. As a biblical health coach who is on the verge of truly unveiling my website/business, I agree. Coaching helps you focus on what is really important - as long as you are open to it. Too many people feel whatever you tell them, they still know better even though their experience says just the opposite - that’s true blindness. Much success as you continue to launch out into the deep, so to speak!!

Steve- Great to see your video! Brings so much more life to your words, and understanding too. I personally feel like the blinders are on me, and hope to work through and become more aware. Can’t wait to see your next vid.

Steve, i’ve been reading your blog for the last 6 months now and the vlogging format is definitely a big improvement. Don’t hesitate to use it in the future. It should help your blog. ;)

Cool work. One thing, though, there’s a weird high pitched hum or whine in the background. I dunno if you can hear it or do anything about it, but it’d help to remove it. Thanks!

Hi RT Wolf - noted. I think my Dell is humming in the background but I never really noticed the sound until you mentioned it.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The part about repeating the same mistake is superbly explained in a book by Michael Ryce: “Why is it happening to me again?!”

It’s brilliant, and if you haven’t read it already it is available for free on the web

    Awesome Leszek,

I found the book online, thank-you.
