Money and the Law of Attraction
March 15, 2010 by Steve
Money and the Law of Attraction. Using the Law of Attraction to create more cash in your life has got to be one of the most misunderstood concepts that came out of the movie The Secret. I know it confused the heck out of me. It took me quite a while to get a handle on it.
Why?
I think the reason it took me so long is because I don’t normally associate positive feelings with the idea of money. And if I’m not feeling, then I’m not attracting. After all, this is a feeling Universe.
The real secret (if there is one) to attract more of the green stuff into your life is to appreciate the value of the service you offer in exchange for money. That sends a totally different signal and vibration to the Universe.
Money As A Symbol
Think of money as a symbol. It represents and is an expression of someone’s appreciation for you.
Let’s say you’re in a job. When the boss pays you, what s/he is really saying is, “here is this gift which symbolizes how much I appreciate you…” in the form of cash, check or deposit. The more your boss appreciates you, the more money you make.
The reason your boss gives you money in the first place is because you’re “worth” something to them. This worth-i-ness is measured by how much they appreciate you. The more they appreciate you, the more money you make.
So what I’m really saying here is that earning money has nothing to do with money and everything to do with how much people (who pay you) appreciate what you do. The more they appreciate what you do, the more money you’ll make.
Self-Appreciation
Now here’s something that’s also true. When the boss gives you money, s/he won’t appreciate what you do unless YOU appreciate what you do. Appreciation comes from the self, which means that you’re the starting point to all of the abundance and prosperity that you want.
That’s why I believe it is absolutely necessary that you start by doing what you love. Because when you do - you start to focus on all the positive aspects of your work experience.
This mental shift generates a feeling of appreciation and acceptance for what you do. And as you begin to appreciate what you do, you begin to influence the people around you with this thought of appreciation.
The more you appreciate what you do (for money), the more others experience this appreciation and the faster money will come into your experience.
So that’s the first order of business: Appreciate what you do (for money). Realize that money is a symbol that represents how much someone appreciates your service - regardless if you’re in a job or in your own business. The more others appreciate your service, the more money you will make.
Money, the Law of Attraction and Entrepreneurs
Being an entrepreneur is slightly different. If you’re in business, when you get paid, what your client is really saying is, “here is this gift which symbolizes how much I appreciate you…” in the form of cash, check or deposit.
So any time a client of yours appreciates what you do for them, they send you money! Isn’t that amazing?
That means that if you want more money, then all you’ve got to do is increase your appreciation. The more you appreciate what you do, the more you’ll express and communicate that appreciation to your clients. The more your clients appreciate you, the more money you’ll make.
And if you really think about this from a buyers perspective, you’ll see this makes a whole lot of sense.
Buyer Appreciation
As an example let’s say you’re just about to buy a new book. As you’re reading through the book summary you realize that the book is worth much less than the asking price (which means you don’t appreciate the value of the book). My question is,
“Will you still go out and buy it?”
Of course not. You’re not going to buy something that is worth less than the money you’re going to give in exchange for it - and neither is anyone else.
The only way you would ever buy that book is if you believed it was worth more than the money you’re going to give - and the only way that can happen is if you escalate your appreciation. In other words, the only way you would ever buy that book is if you appreciated the book so much that its value became higher than the asking price.
… and so that’s the primary goal of any entrepreneur. You want to find a way to continuously appreciate how you serve others.
Because when you do that, the value of your service will increase as will your clients appreciation for what you do. And when all of that happens, money shows up too!
Creating More Money with the Law of Attraction
One of the most common reasons for a lack of money is because of faulty beliefs. The “I’m not worthy” belief is a common one.
So your goal is still the same. You want to find a way to appreciate what you do; to really get a sense of how you serve others and help others. You want to get the impact you have on others and how you make the world a better place.
Little by little as you do this often and repeatedly, you’ll start to see the value of who you really are - you’ll start to see your “worth” go up - and when you feel worthy, the Universe will respond with the powerful Law of Attraction by sending you the exact amount of money that you think you’re worth.

[…] I ran across a blog post on it today. No offense to the author, but it’s just so much hooey, I can’t stand it. Here is part of what was written in the post, Money and The Law of Attraction | Learn the Power of Your Subconscious Mind. […]
I agree with you that we live in a feeling universe and we have to get in a vibrationally matching place with money to attract it. I’ve not thought that much about the self worth/attracting money link, but it makes sense. Then again, any positive feeling is a match with attracting what you want.
I have passels of experience with chasing after money from a place of feeling lack within. Even when I thought I was providing value, the money still didn’t come. But I was missing the other thing you mentioned–loving what you do. I hated what I was doing, and that was a resistance that kept money away. I’m still in the process of cleaning up that mess.
It’s all about vibration!
Thank-you Ande,
Well said :)
Steve, you’ve hit it for me!
Seriously I’m very thankful for this explanation. It made me look at this from a different perspective - and let me see things I didn’t noticed before.
Thank for an eye opener!
