How to Thrive During a Crisis

This is one of the craziest times to be alive.

It’s also one of the most exciting times to explore and discover what your life’s really about.

One of the things that I’ve discovered is that there are patterns that show up in everyone’s lies.

It’s like the Universe keeps bumping up against you to get your attention. And sometimes it can take years for us to notice (or in some cases we just ignore it completely).

However, this is the Universe’s way of say, “hey, you might want to try this.”

And then the Universe winks at you, and waits to see what you do next.

I’m a testament to this because I came out of a very unstable business last year and into a very stable business this year, through this COVID-19 crisis.

In the past few months, there has been a lot of uncertainty, and a lot of fear.

So in order to stay in a place of center, I started to ask these two questions:

#1. What’s trying to emerge in your life right now?

You might be blocking it out. You might have resistance towards it.

In my case I did.

And number two:

#2. What is my gift to share with the world?

So let me share my story and that way, it might illuminate something for you.

So I’ve been offering marketing and selling online for about 12 years.

I was actually working full time and then part time and then, you know, eventually became 100% self employed, but always doing the marketing.

And the reason I always did this is because I love to write, and I love learning how people think. It stimulates me.

But one of the things that kept showing up as a pattern for me, going back to this question, “What’s trying to emerge in my life?”

I realized I was always marketing to coaches, consultants, my services, which is fine…

However, there were these industrial companies, fabrication shops, construction companies all locally where I live and they need help with their marketing.

I had no clue that these bigger companies were clueless about their marketing, and that I could add a lot of value to their organization.

And more importantly…. they always pay their bills. They are always cashflow positive, cash flow rich.

These turn out to be great companies to have as clients, because most of them have been around for 30+ years, and are still making money during this coronavirus crisis… so they will probably be around for another 30+ years.

These companies are not going away.

And so that creates a lot of stability to have those types of clients as my company clients.

Now, why am I bringing this up?

Because that was THE opportunity that was always there for me because I had the skill set.

I just wasn’t monetizing it.

In other words, I wasn’t in the flow of receiving this opportunity that kept emerging in my life.

But I kept asking the question anyways…. “What’s trying to emerge in my life right now?”

And guess what?

I’m now working with more of these industrial shops and construction companies, and they are great clients :-)

So what pattern is emerging in your life right now?

And more importantly, and this is the second question…

“What is your gift to share with others?”

Then whatever answer you get, begin to focus on service to others.
